Don’t over commit
Do you want a long-term position or short-term task? One of the best parts of volunteering is the flexibility! When choosing to a volunteer position have realistic goals about the time you can share with us while keeping your other commitments in mind.
Awareness
Whether you’ve heard about the damaging effects of domestic violence and sexual assault on the news, through one of our events, or from personal experiences, we love volunteers who show awareness and willingness to learn about our goals! Recognizing issues that are close to you makes for a great advocate, which exactly what W.O.R.G. looks for to spread awareness about our cause.
There’s no “I” in team
As volunteers, we are all working towards the same goal, because we know that together we can make change happen. W.O.R.G. encourages volunteers to make their voices heard by bringing creativity and ideas to meetings during round-table discussions and offering open communication with team leaders. By remembering to work as part of a team you’ll be able to make a difference and make friends along the way!
Have fun!
Volunteering is what you make it and it can be such a fun and rewarding experience with Women of Refined Gold! Come to learn, teach, and make memories while working for change in your community. By bringing your energy and keeping a positive attitude at events, you can motivate others to take action and be the inspiration someone needs.
